Thomas Reginald Horn
November 9, 1944 – December 6, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Reg, at the age of 79. Reg passed peacefully on December 6, 2023, with his wife by his side, at St. Boniface Hospital.

Reg was predeceased by his parents, Bernice and Rhynard Horn, and his brothers, Gerald, Donald, Malcolm and Cameron.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 60 years, Linda (née Gustafson); daughters, Lori (Jacques) and Kristine (Dave); grandchildren, Dylan (Saskia), Kayla, Klover and Jerrett; great-grandchildren, Kyra and Ryker; along with his sister Deanna and many other extended family and close friends.

Reg grew up in Oak Bluff and attended school in Oak Bluff, then Sanford. He met the love of his life, Linda, and they married in 1963. They resided in Oak Bluff and then moved to Sanford where they lived for 18 years before moving to Winnipeg.

Reg worked various jobs and in 1967 he started at Inland Cement and 37 years later he retired in 2004. During his years at Inland he was involved in the Union (Boilermakers), where he was president for 25 years. While working he made many friendships that continued after retirement.

Reg, loved spending time with family, friends, and especially his wife, whether he was watching sports or discussing news and politics. He was an avid reader and loved doing crosswords. He enjoyed the occasional fishing trip with friends. Throughout the 60 years of marriage, Reg and Linda travelled to visit family in BC and Ontario. They also travelled with good friends to various destinations.

Reg was a loving father and grandfather. He enjoyed coaching both his daughters’ softball teams for many years. He was very proud of his grandchildren and loved going to all their baseball and hockey games. Spending quality time with his grandchildren, camping, fishing, countless visits to Assiniboine Park, and many other activities.

He will be greatly missed by all.

At Reg’s request, a small family gathering will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Manitoba Camping Association, Home of the Sunshine Fund or a charity of your choice.
