Sydney Ralph Moshenko

Sydney Ralph Moshenko passed away peacefully with family by his side on September 29, 2022, at age 88.

Ralph, as he was more familiarly known, is lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Ollie; daughters Bonnie Moshenko- Mitchell and Karen (Richard) Gall; grandsons Isaac and Keaton Gall, and Heath and Flynn Mitchell. He is also survived by his siblings Elsie Shemeluk, Robert (Margaret) Moshenko, Shirley (Hellar) Prysiazniuk and David (Lynda) Moshenko; his sisters-in-law Phyllis Plesh and Irene (Larry) Paterson; brother-in-law Morris, as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

Ralph was predeceased by his parents John and Jean Moshenko, father-in-law and mother-in-law Alex and Mary Plesh; brothers-in-law Roman Shemeluk and Nick Plesh, and sister-in-law Sandra Plesh.

Ralph was born in Garland, MB and grew up on the family farm, receiving his education in Garland and Ethelbert, MB. At age 18, he ventured up to northern Manitoba where he worked at a few different jobs and furthered his education through correspondence. In 1959 he moved to Winnipeg and enrolled in the Chartered Accountant Program, graduating in 1964 with his Chartered Accountant Certificate. He spent his entire career with the Manitoba Government Finance Department, retiring in 1999.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no formal funeral service. Cremation has taken place and a private interment will be held.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba in Ralph’s memory, or to a charity of your choice.

  2. I wish to extend my deepest condolences to Ollie and your family.
    After I joined the fiancé department I reported to Ralph for most of my years with the department. Ralph’s office door was always open to me to consult on any issue I had. He was my mentor and my friend. He had the greatest respect from the entire department and certainly me. Rest In Peace, Ralph.

  4. We are very sorry to hear of Ralph’s passing. We had many good times with him and Ollie through many years of curling and get-togethers at their home and Tim Hortons. Our thoughts are with you Ollie and your family.
