Peacefully, on Monday, December 23, with his wife of 69 years by his side, our Dad took his last breath at the Maples Personal Care Centre.

Dad was born at St. Boniface Hospital on December 25, 1926 to John and Mary Stachowicz.

Left to mourn his passing are daughters Patti (Steve), Bonnie, Belinda and Ginger (Roy); along with Carol, Adele and Vicky in Toronto, numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren. This year we celebrated five generations with the birth of Hunter Rose. Dad never accepted the death of our baby sister last year and was also predeceased by his older brother Johnny (Kathy).

Dad was a jack-of-all-trades. There was nothing he could not fix or try to fix. After numerous career changes Dad settled on the trucking industry. He owned his own rig and later was employed with Schwartz Cons. Dad was well liked and very sociable.

The family would like to thank Dr. P.G. Mehta for his care of Dad up until the last 6 months. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the dedicated and caring staff at Maples Personal Care Centre for their excellent care of our Dad. Their thoughtfulness and genuine sympathy are appreciated at this very difficult time. Thank you also to Voyage Funeral home for making this process easier. We appreciate that you did not push or up-sell but met our needs professionally with sincerity.

“Until we meet again Dad, may God welcome you into his kingdom.”
