Ronald James Smith

Ronald James Smith
October 16, 1943 – July 25, 2023

It is with profound sadness that the family of Ronald James Smith announces the passing of our beloved husband, father and papa. Ron had his wife, Elaine, his son Bradley, and his daughter Kimberly by his side for comfort.

Ron was predeceased by his parents, William and Lily, and his brothers, Billy, Gordon, Ken and Doug. Left to mourn his passing are his loving wife and best friend Elaine, son Bradley, daughter Kimberly (Rob Zanewich), granddaughters Alycia and Madelyn, sister-in-law, Judy Smith, and cousins, nieces and nephews.

Ron was a kind, giving, generous and caring man, who would do anything for his family and friends. We will always love and remember you.

As a career, he spent many years in the automotive industry, and then worked in sales at Superior Heating and Air Conditioning for his brother Ken and nephew Dave. He retired from his position as a Security Guard at Hampton Green Condominiums.

Ron loved sports, especially hockey (The Winnipeg Jets); Football (The Winnipeg Blue Bombers) and golfing. He cherished his two granddaughters, Alycia and Madelyn and would always spend as much time as possible with them. His eyes would light up whenever they were around.

In 2017, dementia became evident and he eventually had to reside in the Charleswood Personal Care Home in 2020 and then transferred to the River East Personal Care Home in 2021 until his passing.

The family would like to express our sincere gratitude for giving our loved one the best care one could ever have. We would also like to express our thanks for the kindness they showed to us all.

Ron looked forward to the comforting words found in Revelation 21:3 & 4.

A private Family Memorial will be held at a later time. Condolences can be made in the comments below.

Am so sorry for your loss; as I also lost my husband. Wanted to know if your maiden name was Berg, Elaine. If so, would you please contact me whenever?
