Robert Raymond Kim Turner

Robert Raymond Kim Turner

May 11, 1942 – April 12, 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kim Turner in the early hours of April 12, 2020, peacefully at home and surrounded by loved ones.

He is survived by his beloved wife Barbara, his sons, Matthew (Cindy-Lee), Paul and Steven; Barb’s children, Laura (Dean), Jarret (Zuzana) and Carrie; and his grandchildren, Keelee, Kyra, Kennedy, Emmett, Hillary, Evan, Logan and Charlotte. He also leaves to mourn his beloved brother Coulter, sister Karen Dunn (David), sister-in-law Janice Campbell (Keith), Linda Turner, mother of his three sons, and many nephews, nieces, extended family members and dear friends, whom he regarded with great affection and caring. He was predeceased by his younger brother Kent.

Kim was born and raised in Winnipeg to parents, Robert (Bob) and Kathleen Turner. He graduated with a diploma in Agriculture from the University of Manitoba and pursued a career path through many aspects of the agriculture industry, from farm hand to chemical sales management, but his proudest career accomplishment was the successful textile sales agency that he established and operated while raising his sons in Calgary with Linda. Following his retirement in 2004, he pursued his interests in managing his acreage, following his Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Jets, and enjoying the cottage life with Barb at the Pelican Harbour cottage they built together on Lake Winnipeg.

His passions included his trees, his banjo, and most of all his family. Kim will be fondly remembered for his friendly demeanour, upbeat spirit, and infectious optimism. He was always the person that those around him could depend on to lighten the mood and make everyone feel comfortable. He would not want to be sadly missed, but he will be missed all the same.

In lieu of flowers, we would welcome a donation to the humanitarian cause of your choice.

As per Kim’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, August 29, 2022 at 11:00 a.m., in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 472 Kirkfield Street at McBey Ave. Interment at Chapel Lawn Cemetery in Winnipeg.
