Robert (Bob) Gerald Mozdzen

Robert Bob Gerald Mozdzen
March 8, 1948 – February 22, 2024

It is with great sadness that the family of Bob Mozdzen announce his passing at St. Boniface Hospital, Palliative Care Unit on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at the age of 75.

Bob was born on March 8, 1948, in Portage la Prairie. He grew up in Teulon, MB, and moved to Winnipeg when he married Linda and started a family. Bob spent his time working as a welder, watching his kids and grandchildren’s sporting events and fixing anything that needed fixing. Bob spent countless hours outside in the backyard, gardening, chatting with people who stopped by, and making his rounds visiting the neighbours.

Bob was very well known in his community. He was the Mr. Fix It of the neighbourhood, always lending a hand fixing bikes, appliances, lawnmowers, and snowblowers. He had a spare part for everything and a guaranteed fix for any item. He always had a bike fixed up and ready to go for each grandchild who needed one.
As per Bob’s wishes, cremation has taken place. No formal service will be held.

We love you and will keep you in our hearts forever, you will be missed.

  1. Our sincere condolences to Linda and family, we are so sorry for the loss of Bob. We have the pleasure of being Bob and Linda’s neighbor, for over 25 years, and still are . Bob was always outside, welding, fixing or hammering something. He would often just tinker around the yard, taking pride in his garden out back, every rabbit and squirrel also knew who Bob was! Our children teasingly referred to him as “Wilson” from “Tim the Toolman Taylor”. They grew up talking to Bob through the fence, and he often had a hat on his head! Our grandchildren quickly got to know Bob, who always took the time to say “Hi” to them, “over the fence”. He was always there for some good advice when fixing something, or to lend a hand when needed.
We can only smile when we think of Bob, he was a good neighbor, friend and community member.
    We will miss him.
    Rest in Peace Bob.

Our sincere condolences to Linda and her family. Bob was a great neighbour. To us he was the local metal recycler. Whenever we left something metal out in the back lane for someone to take, it would disappear in no time. We’re pretty sure it was Bob finding it during one of his neighbourhood rounds. We had some lengthy talks when I came out to our front yard and saw him sitting on his front step, sometimes with their cat. I’d go there or he’d come here and we would talk about lawn maintenance or anything else that came up. We will miss Bob.

  3. Condolences Linda and family. Bob was a fixture on our street and I always knew it was a nice day when I’d see him sitting on the front step. He always had a wave and a suggestion if needed. Rest in peace Bob. Judy & Carey
