With great sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Rick on July 29, 2021 at the age of 73.
He remains in the hearts of his wife Maureen; daughters Tamara (Jonathan) and Katherine (Brent); and brother David (Michelle). Papa will also be remembered by his grandchildren Connor and Keanna. Rick was predeceased by his parents Walter and Gwen.
Rick had a quiet calm about him and he faced his illness the same way without complaint. He never lost his sense of humour and even after losing his speech he found creative ways to join in with his funny comments and observations. Rick has also been loved throughout the years by the family dogs and he welcomed them all. He will be missed by his beloved dog Luke.
We wish to thank Dr.C. Duprat, the Palliative Care Team and the ALS Society.
As per Rick’s wishes there will be no service.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the ALS Society of Manitoba.
