Raymond Griffiths

It is with heavy hearts and sadness that the family announces the passing of Raymond Griffiths on June 4, 2021.

Raymond will be remembered by his wife of 57 years, Susan; children Sandra (Rory), Debbie (Curtis) and Richard (Naomi); many grandchildren and great grandchildren, sister-in-law Shirley; mother-in-law Evelyn; brother John (Cathy); and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by mother Rose; sisters Pat, Gwen and Irene; brothers Norman, William, Bob and Ron and grand baby Hope.

Butch was born and raised in Winnipeg, Mb and married Susan in 1963. Butch worked for ICE for 42 years before retiring in 2006. Butch lived most his life in the Fort Rouge and had many friends in the area. He was good friends with Rene, June, Ken and Margaret and enjoyed the trips to the Cambridge for beers and laughter. He enjoyed going camping and fishing, his favourite spot was Rushing River, Ontario. Butch loved his animals and would take daily drives to Crescent Park to see and feed the deer. Butch could be the life of the party, especially his kid’s parties which were frequented by many Rougers.

Special thanks to Rory Bookbinder for his kindness, preparing and delivering many special meals to our dad and thanks to MJ Johnson for lending a helping hand when needed.

As per Butch’s wishes cremation has taken place. Due to COVID there will be no service. A private family service will take place at a later date.

Rest in Peace My Love, I will always love you. Susan
Dad we miss you and love you very much and hope that you hear us when we tell you that everyday. Sandra, Debbie & Richard

  4. My condolences to the family,
I was one of Ray’s co workers at I.C.E. for over 30 years, hard working guy easy going and well respected. Great guy to talk to and we always had time for a few jokes during the day. I think he did a great job as a father, because I know his son Ritchie. Will miss the old times at I.C.E. Ray.

  5. So sad to hear of Raymond’s passing. I am his sister Irene’s daughter Linda and after our father passed we lost touch with my mother’s side of the family. I hope that he had a wonderful and happy life and will be resting in heaven with his family. My condolences to you all.
