November 6, 1917 – August 17, 2021
With a broken heart, I relinquish Mom to God’s arms. Her strength, wisdom, generosity and love have been a haven all of my life. The void left is deep and dark but memories of our close bond, laughter and tears will sustain my heart until we are together again.
Mom loved to garden (planted flowers this spring), do jigsaw puzzles (always had one going), reading suspense novels, needlepoint pictures and crocheting doilies (when her vision was better), as well as many museum-worthy afghans (completed one just this last year).
At 103 years of age, Mom has survived all her brothers and sisters, husband Michael (1975) and daughter Linda (Terry) (2008). I, daughter Rose, am left to mourn my best friend.
Thank you to the Women’s Hospital 5th floor staff for the care, extraordinary compassion and kindness you have Mom and myself during her stay.
Cremation has taken place. Interment to follow at Glen Eden Cemetery.
