June 1, 1971 – November 22, 2020

With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Mark Ducharme at the age of 49 at his residence on Sunday, November 22, 2020.

He will be sadly missed by his loving children Nick and Chyann (Darnell), his grandsons Darnell Jr. and Milo. He also leaves to mourn his passing his father Ray, brother Michael, sisters Merle (Patrick), Maxine (Will), his best friend Casey, nieces, nephews and numerous other relatives and friends. Mark was pre-deceased by his mother Geraldine September 11, 2017.

Mark was born on June 1, 1971 at Pine Falls Hospital, resided in Lac Du Bonnet for the first few years of his life and spent the rest of his life in Winnipeg. He was a kind soul who lived a happy life, grew up in the North End went to Strathcona School, Isaac Newton and graduated from R.B. Russell.

During his adult life, he worked many jobs to help support his young family, Mark struggled at times with his health but still kept a positive attitude. Mark gave what he could and never expected anything in return nor did he ask for much.

He touched so many hearts, was loved by all and he loved his children unconditionally. When his grandson Darnell Jr. was born September 28, 2018, he was the proudest grandfather around. He beamed with pride, he loved spending time with him and looked forward to spending time with his newest grandson Milo born September 23, 2020.

He fought a hard battle with his health and lost in the end but Heaven called upon him and gave him his wings where he joins his mother Geraldine.

Cremation will take place with a family service to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations can be made to the Diabetes Association of MB or the Kidney Foundation.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Mark’s organ donor for giving him many more years of life. Also many thanks to his many doctors, his nurse (Rhonda Jones), the Kidney Dialysis Unit staff at HSC, his home care staff, his son Nick and his best friend Casey who was always there for him and cared for him daily.

  1. Mark was one of my favourite nephews , he was so compassionate of others , ever since I can remember he always was a good boy , but when someone needed his help , like his sister’s or cousins , he was there for them , protecting them , , I remember one day we went to Garden City , my granddaughter Serenity was so hyper, but Mark asked her to sit with him and there she sat for at least 45 minutes , just talking Marks ear off and she was about 6 yrs old, but that’s how Mark was, always wanting to hear your story, and she loved him💕 ever after, no matter his situation he always had a smile and hug for us, will miss you Mark, but your with your Mother now , Rest in Peace ,till we meet again, love you,

  2. Mark will always be a hero to me. He went through whatever life threw at him with the courage, grace and humility not seen in many men. Whatever troubles you may have had. or thought you may have had. could be wiped away hearing his innocent laugh at whatever he would find amusing that day, Rest eternal in the Kingdom of God surrounded by all the angels and Saints that have gone before you my nephew.

  3. So sorry to hear of Mark’s passing. He was kind and gentle and fought his illness with courage.
Condolences to uncle Ray and the rest of the family.
