Peacefully on September 16, 2023, Marjorie (granny) passed away at the age of 91.

She was predeceased by her three children Noreen, Lois, and Brent (Eileen) who were waiting patiently to be reunited with her. She leaves to mourn numerous family; sisters, brothers, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother who took great pride in all their accomplishments. Marge also took pride in her baking, sewing (which she won awards for), and her love of fashion. She would faithfully shop at the Bay downtown every week for the latest fashions which she gifted mostly to her family.

Marjorie loved to help others and care for others. She would chat daily with her family and friends to discuss the day’s events and ensure you were okay. Marjorie loved spending time with family and friends and was always ready for a game of rummy where there were lots of laughs and playful banter.

If you knew Marge, you knew how much she cared and was always there for you. She was such a strong, caring, kind-hearted woman.

As per Marge’s wishes, no funeral will take place.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.

  1. Aunt Marge was a wonderful woman who was dearly loved. I remember many good times visiting with her and my cousins. She was kind and generous. I used to have many enjoyable conversations with her. I will miss her.

  2. Margie was the oldest girl in a family of 7. I was the youngest child and the same age as her daughter Noreen. Even though she had children of her own she alway was a good sister to me. Taking me on holidays with them and to visit at their farm. She also took the time to write me often when I was first married and had moved to Halifax. She supported me in many ways and was there to watch my daughter’s dance recitals as well as to come have coffee at the first lounge I ever worked at. She loved to share her passion for sewing and helped me with sewing as well as teaching many of her nieces to sew. She always tried to be there for our mom and dad. When dad went into a nursing home I know she visited probably more than any of his children. When she still lived on their farm she never came to see mom without produce from her garden. She adored her kids, grandkids and her little Alaina! They were her pride and joy. Margie suffered more in this life than anyone ever should but still kept up trying to help others. Enjoy your family reunion Marg!. Noreen, Lois, Brent and Mom and Dad. I know you will be dressed to the nines and looking fabulous!
