Margaret Joan Feakes (Worobes)

Margaret Joan Feakes Worobes

December 13, 1946 – November 2, 2022

Margaret was born on Friday, December 13, 1946 in Winnipeg. She passed away at Riverview Health Centre on November 2, 2022, at the age of 75. She is finally at peace after many years of health issues culminating in a short battle with cancer.

Margaret was predeceased by her parents, George and Emily Worobes; parents-in-law, Jack and Jesse Feakes; and grandson Ashton Feakes. Margaret is survived by her loving husband John Feakes; children Joanne (Wayne) Kolmatiski, John (Linde) Feakes, Henry (Bernie) Feakes; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; her 3 sisters; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Margaret married the love of her life in May 1964. She and John shared 58 years together. Margaret held a couple of jobs before they were married, but afterwards, her main job was being a wife and mother, which she did very well. She always had a great lunch waiting for the kids coming home from school and her dinners were amazing. Mom loved to cook, and she was one of the best. She was not afraid to experiment. Her other passion was gardening; ordering seeds from a catalogue to see which new varieties would grow.

Once the kids were grown, mom and dad enjoyed many summers in Gimli at their trailer. Mom was known to all as an animal lover, especially cats. Mom is now with the Lord Jesus in that beautiful place He has prepared for those who trust in Him. We miss you, mom.

Special thanks to the nurses and health care aids at Riverview for all their kind care and support. A very special thanks to Colleen, who went above and beyond in her compassion and care for mom and our family during mom’s stay at Riverview.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 1:30 pm at New Life Sanctuary Church (618 Muriel St., Wpg) with burial to follow at Glen Eden Cemetery (4477 Main St., W. St.Paul).
