October 1, 1929 – September 7, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at the age of 93.
Left to mourn her are her children, Danica (Steve), Dana (Todd) and Daryl (Dawn Marie). She will also be missed by her grandchildren Carter (Brooklyn), Devon (Tayah) and Sabrina (Jeremy).
She was predeceased by her parents Richard and Margaret Houston, her sisters Glada, Ruby, Phyllis, Jean and Marjorie. She lost the love of her life, her husband Walter 6 years ago.
Louise was born in Emerson, Manitoba on October 1, 1929 the youngest of six girls and enjoyed her childhood growing up in the country. The family moved to Marchand and later on to Winnipeg when mom was a teenager.
She married Walter Didur on May 26, 1956 and they enjoyed over 60 happy years together. Anyone who knew them would describe them as two peas in a pod and they did everything as a team. They enjoyed their trips to the garden they tended each year on Churchill Drive, and strawberry picking season.
Mom loved to travel and had been to New York, Europe and to California to visit her sister Ruby.
Mom was all about family life. She knit and sewed and passed that talent on to her daughters. She loved having the whole family for dinners complete with a Jeanne’s Bakery cake of course!
Mom was a faithful servant of Jehovah for almost 80 years and she believed in the Bible’s promise of a resurrection on earth where she will once again enjoy life with her family.
We would like to thank the staff on the 4th floor at Action Marguerite for their support and excellent care of mom for the last 5 years. A private memorial service is planned for the future.
