With sadness, the family of Laurent Joseph Prairie announces the passing of their Husband, Dad and Grandpa on November 5, 2022, surrounded by his family.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife of 47 years Susan, his son Grant and wife Michelle, daughter Jody and husband John Reilly, along with his Grandchildren who he was so proud of and loved so much, Juliette and John Jr Reilly and Timothy Prairie. He also leaves his siblings Georgette, Emilia, George, Paul (Yvonne), Thérèse (Marc), brother-in-law Edgar and numerous nieces and nephews. Laurent was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Marguerite Prairie, sister Rita Leost and brothers-in-law Lynn Lampman and Archie DeLaronde.
Laurent took great pride in celebrating the 50th Anniversary of his kidney transplant on May 12, 2022. Laurent had many health obstacles in life, but he overcame them with strength and perseverance.
Laurent had a great love for sports throughout his life. Whether it was supporting his children in their sports or in later years watching his grandchildren play in the yard or participating in their chosen activities. He rarely missed a televised Jets or Bombers game. His grandchildren brightened his day right until the end.
Celebration of life will take place on November 12, 2022, at 1:00 PM at the St Adolphe Bible Fellowship at 467 Main Street in St Adolphe, MB.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Kidney Foundation or Heart and Stroke Foundation.
