It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the sudden but peaceful passing of Jose Coquete.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Maria Coquete; his two sons and foster son; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; brother; sister-in-law; niece; nephews; great nieces and great-nephews.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather; he was also a great friend to everyone that knew him; always putting a smile on everyone’s faces.
Jose was born in Saõ Jorge Acorés and after getting married he immigrated to Canada in 1972, to Winnipeg, where he lived his whole life. He was a hardworking man and always made sure his family’s wellbeing came first. He worked construction all his life and retired from the City of Winnipeg.
He was liked by all that met him and loved very much by his family.
We would like to say a special thanks to the wonderful staff for their expert care during his couple of days in the ICU at the Seven Oaks Hospital.
Funeral service and viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home 220 Hespeler Avenue at Henderson Highway.
Family has asked to have the interment private.
