James Anthony Broney

In Loving Memory


May 10, 1951 – January 2, 2024

 

James Broney, 72, peacefully passed away on January 2, 2024, in Minnedosa hospital. Born to Tony and Sadie Broney in Onanole, Manitoba, Jim was the third oldest of nine children. On August 2, 1975, he married Brenda Dunning, and together they raised three sons, Corey, Troy, and Colin.

Jim was predeceased by his parents and three brothers, Jackie, Richard, and John. He is survived by his wife Brenda, three sons and their partners, grandchildren, and five sisters with their respective brothers-in-law – Shirley (Alvin), Rose (Tom), Karin (Terry), Leanne (Ken), and Paulette along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Throughout his 40-year career, Jim excelled as a window and door installer. Initially a subcontractor for Sears, he later established his own business, earning a reputation as a meticulous and skilled craftsman. Jim also contributed his talents to Aero Recip Ltd. Canada, where he worked as a shipper-receiver and cleaner, always taking pride in his work.

A lover of animals, Jim’s fondness for dogs was evident throughout his life, particularly with his beloved companions Baby Girl and Spunky. He found joy in fishing, a pastime that brought him solace and relaxation.

Despite battling chronic pain for years, Jim faced life with resilience. He sorely missed his brothers, yet his family takes comfort knowing he is now free from pain, reunited with his brothers, fishing, and causing a little mischief in the afterlife. May you rest in peace, Jim.
