It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our family matriarch Helen Simeonidis on September 5, 2023, peacefully in the comfort of our home surrounded by loved ones.
We take comfort in knowing she is reunited with all of those who have passed on before her. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, daughter, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and so many loving friends.
Helen left an everlasting impression in people’s hearts and was always eager to help. She was an inspiration to humanity.
Friends and family are invited to share memories and prayers on Friday, September 8, 2023, at 7:00 p.m., at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 2255 Grant Ave in Winnipeg, MB. The funeral service will be held in Greece.

Helen you were a like a second mother to me. I could sit and listen to your stories eating dolmades and laughing with you for an eternity. You were so gracious when Anna and I visited Greece and you welcomed us into your home at first hosting us alone. I was so lucky to get see you giving out advice and guidance, I love you and miss you already. Anna and I will forever cherish our moments with you as will all our children. God Bless you and Archie, what an amazing legacy you leave.
I am sad to have recently learned of Helen’s passing. My deepest and heartfelt condolences go out to her family. I will never forget my years working as a waitress at Santa Lucia on Regent and how kind her and the Simeonidis family were to me. I still make many of the recipes she taught me to make, always with her on my mind and will continue to do so. RIP Helen.
