Evangelia Fuzeta

Evangelia Fuzeta

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Evangelia. She was born in Pili Kos, Greece, on April 8, 1933.

Evangelia attended The University of Athens, majoring in nursing. Once graduated, she returned to her home island of Kos, to practice for a year, followed by a year in Rhodes. She immigrated to Canada in 1960 and worked as a nurse at the Health Science Centre and St. Boniface where she completed her 35-year career. She was very proud to have served in the medical community.

In the summertime, you could always find Evangelia tending to her garden, vegetable garden, and rose bushes. She had a passion for fashion and was always dressed to the nines. She loved history, classical music, and art. Above all, she loved her family first and foremost. She was always looking after everyone and lending a helping hand to those she loved most.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 2255 Grant Ave, with Rev. Fr. Nick Tambakis presiding. Interment to follow at Waverley Memorial Gardens.

We will remember her great stories, her laughter, and her optimistic outlook on life.
You were constantly shooting for the stars and now you’re finally with them.
Always loved, never forgotten, Godspeed.
