Peacefully, on Sunday, November 11, 2018, at the St. Boniface Hospital, Elmar Schumpp passed away at 88 years.
Elmar was predeceased by his beloved wife Ella in February 2001. He will be lovingly remembered by their sons Fred and Peter and sister Uta of Japan and their family. Also his faithful canine companions Sam and Buddy.
He was born in Mannheim, Germany in 1930, immigrated to Canada in 1957 and married Ella in 1961. He started Dawson Rentals in 1967 which was his passion and continued to go to work there 6 days a week until his passing. He loved vacationing down south in the winters, barbecuing and smoking fish for which he was well known as well as being an animal lover especially dogs of which he had many over the years.
In accordance with Elmar’s wishes, a viewing will be held on Thursday, November 29 between 12:00 noon – 1:00 p.m., in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave at Henderson Hwy., followed with a family graveside gathering at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens.
