August 7, 1951 – February 4, 2023

On Saturday, Feb 4th 2023, Dwayne Couldwell, a beloved husband, father and Grandad passed away at the age of 71, after a 9 month courageous battle with cancer. Born on Aug 7th, 1951 to Gordon and Laura Couldwell, of Prince Albert, SK. Dwayne graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Ag Economics and worked in the grain industry for nearly 50 years. Dwayne spent the majority of his spare time at the family cabin on Lake of the Woods, a place that he built with the help of his family and friends. After retiring in 2020, he and his wife Sharon spent their summers enjoying quiet lake life. His passion was building and the cabin was something he was very proud of. Watching sunsets from his perch on the top deck was his happy place. He will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by his wife Sharon (Boden); daughters Kimberly (Reed) Willison, their sons Linden and Luke, Kelly (Andrew) MacKenzie and their sons Aiden and Owen.

A celebration of life will take place at the family cabin next summer.

  2. Hi Dwayne, you are the most beloved and heartful grain trading professor for all of Mitsui Canola traders and we are still all student of you.
I bet you are watching canola growing condition from heaven and forecasiting every year’s crop production.

      Dear Sharon,
Sending you and your entire family our condolences. You are in our thoughts and prayers during this time of grief. So sorry to hear the news about Dwayne’s passing.

  8. Dwayne was one of the most respected grain traders that I knew. For over thirty years, we often talked and he often enlightened me with his honest views and opinions which I truly respected. It was a privilege to have known him as a friend and as a competitor. I know exactly how much he loved his LOTW’s get away and it is unfair that those golden years there were cut so short by cancer. To Sharon and the rest of the family my sincere condolences and take some solace in the fact Dwayne was truly respected by many.
Keep the sun shining and those batteries charged.
