November 19, 1938 – May 20, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dieter Jeebe on May 20, 2024 at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends.

He was loved and cherished by many people, including his wife Jutta, his sons Dirk (Shirley) and Andre and his grandchildren, Braylin and Breanna. He was also cherished by extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held for family and friends on June 8th 1:00 PM 2024 at Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Avenue at Henderson Hwy, Wpg MB.

Dieter was born in Neustadt/Holstein, Germany on November 19, 1938.
He immigrated to Canada in 1959 with his mother, Erna, stepdad Herbert and his brother Ingolf.

Roots were being planted in Winnipeg when he met his wife to be, Jutta while working for Wittler furniture. And soon thereafter a new family began.
He enjoyed his family and was very proud of them. He joined the German club where he was a member for 59 years.

Weekend fiestas were being enjoyed with family and friends at camp Neustadt starting first with a tent, then later buying a converted bus, and ultimately building a cottage in Heideland. Many fond memories were created and shared there.

Dieter enjoyed watching hockey, particularly the Winnipeg Jets, as well Soccer. His passion was gardening, whether at home or at the cottage.
Family vacations were planned in Germany reminiscing of a home he had previously left. He was able to unite with his dad whom he thought had previously passed on.

Later on after retirement, he spent many years vacationing in Cuba. He loved it so much and joyfully shared his new passion with others and giving his recommendations of places to see and stay. This is where he earned a nickname “Mr. Cuba” By his friends. A title he both loved and enjoyed.

Dieter stood by his family through all the hard times. He never complained in sickness or in health. He was an honest, hard-working man that built a beautiful life with his family.
For this beautiful commitment to his family, he is sorrowfully mourned by them.

We love you, and we miss you! Dad you will live on within our hearts and minds until we meet again in heaven.

If friends so desire donations in Memory of Dieter can be made to Deer Lodge Centre 2109 Portage Ave.

    Lieber Onkel Dieter,

  3. What can one say at a time like this.
This was a beautiful obituary for Dieter.
We did not see each other often, the three provinces apart were nearly insurmountable.
I remember most fondly an evening walk after dinner with Dieter, when stopping by during one of our cross country drives. Dieter invited Eva and I along for his evening walk, and him power walking while we tried to keep up. Just a quiet conversation about nothing and everything.
Thinking of you all in Winnipeg; Jutta, Dirk (Shirley) and André. Keeping you close by in our thoughts.

    Eva and Gary
