Carolyn Peck (Myers)

Carolyn Peck Myers

Peacefully, on April 18, 2024 at Holy Family Homes, our beloved mother and grandmother passed away at age 86.

Carolyn was a long-time Transcona resident. She was a dedicated Rebekah member and was the first Theta Ro girl from Transcona to become President of the Rebekah Assembly of Manitoba.

She found great contentment in her home, and especially enjoyed the summers spent at Malachi with her family and friends.

Later in life she would love travelling to Ontario to see her son Michael, his wife Pam, and her grandchildren Melanie and Matthew.

Carolyn loved her church, St. Georges, and was an active member until travel became difficult.

Carolyn was predeceased by her parents Lily (2003) and William (1977), her ex-husband Arthur (Harry) (2001), her daughter, Catherine (1986), and her brother Robert (Frank) (2013). She will be sadly missed by her son Michael (Pamela) Peck and grandchildren, Melanie and Matthew.

A Celebration of Life will be determined later.

Interment at the family plot, Transcona Cemetery.

Flowers gratefully declined.

If friends so wish, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or Holy Family Homes.

  1. Carolyn was a warm and friendly woman who welcomed me when I joined the Rebekah Lodge in the early 70’s. After I left Winnipeg she would always welcome me with the same enthusiasm whenever I visited. She and my sister, Jennifer were very good friends so I have remained connected through her with Carolyn all these years. My deepest condolences to Michael, Pam, Melanie and Matthew.

  2. Carolyn was my friend for over 40 years. Our boys played hockey together, we even drove to Greenwood NS to visit. She and I went to Mexico together. In later years we met often for lunch or coffee, and she visited us at our cottage. I will always remember her for her wonderful laugh and cheerful outlook. I miss her. Rest In Peace, my dear friend.

  3. I have fond memories of Carolyn. I first met her when she was visiting her friends the Frame’s at Malachi. We enjoyed a couple of canoe rides together. Trick was could we get in and out of the canoe without tipping over. Loved her laugh. Rest in peace Carolyn.

  4. Cousin Carolyn’s greeting was always with a great big smile, the memory which reminds me of the many good times we had. Christmas Eve after church and Auntie Lily’s scrumptious meat pies. The many fishing expeditions in Malachi.
Our prayers and condolences to you Michael and family. Your Mom had a big smile that she shared..
Carolyn’s last years were not easy, but God promises a peace, an everlasting peace.

  5. Carolyn was my friend for over 40 years. It started when our sons played hockey together in 1980 or so. With our husbands, we socialized and played cards many times. When they moved to Nova Scotia, we visited, and even brought them a puppy! When they moved back to Winnipeg, we picked up where we left off. Once Carolyn was on her own, she and I often met for lunch or coffee, watched football together, and she visited us at our cottage at Malachi. When she started to suffer from dementia, I did what I could for her, and kept in close contact. She was a warm person, so much fun, with a wonderful laugh. I miss her. Rest easy now, my dear friend.
