Arleigh Joan Pollitt nee Wells

May 31, 1937 – May 17, 2023  

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, nana, great-gramma and friend, Arleigh Joan Pollitt (Wells) on May 17 at Tuxedo Personal Care Home in Winnipeg.

Arleigh was born in Winnipeg. She grew up in St James. She married Robert Pollitt on June 2, 1962. They were together for over 60 years raising two daughters.

She attended many of her grandchildren’s school concerts and sporting events over the years. Arleigh enjoyed doing crafts with her favorite being knitting, crocheting, and quilting. She also enjoyed baking and was well known for her Eatmore bars at the Grace Hospital where she volunteered for over 35 years.

Arleigh was predeceased by her parents Arthur and Audrey Wells and son-in-law Blaine Van Achte.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband Robert; daughters Caroline Binne and Sharon Van Achte; grandchildren Gregory (Eve), Bradley and Nicole; great-granddaughter Aria; and her sister Carole Thomson; along with nephews, nieces, cousins, and long-time friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at Tuxedo Personal Care Home for their outstanding kindness and compassion that Arleigh received while a resident.

At Arleigh’s request, cremation has taken place and a private interment will occur at a later date.
