Anthony Joseph Raymond Ducharme Ray

March 21, 1933 – April 20, 2024

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear Dad/Papa Ray Ducharme who passed away peacefully at his residence in Winnipeg on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at the age of 91.

Ray will be deeply missed by his daughters Merle (Patrick) and Maxine (Will), his grandchildren Shannon, Christopher, Renee (Justin), Devin (Makenzie), Jodie (Kameron), Nick, Chyann (Darnell) and Samantha, great grandchildren Emma, Mya, Lynn, Charley, Chloe, Darnell Jr. and Milo. He also leaves to mourn his passing his surviving children from his first wife; Mitchell, Deanna, Lana, Tammy, Martin, grandchildren, extended family in Cormorant and The Pas, as well his sister-in-law Linda (Leo), brothers-in-law Archie, Stuart (Sue) and Robert, as well as numerous relatives and friends.

Ray was born and raised in Cormorant, Manitoba on March 21, 1933 to Victor and Annie Ducharme. His life led him to become a hard-working miner in different mines (gold, diamond, lithium and nickel) in Manitoba, N.W.T, Ontario and Butte, Montana. During his miner life he met the love of his life Geraldine in Bissett, Manitoba and soon they settled in Winnipeg and raised a family. He eventually gave up the miner life and worked in the construction field working for various construction companies in Winnipeg and then finally retiring from the City of Winnipeg at age 65.

Ray loved spending time with his grandchildren. He went to many of their sporting events and activities, his face always lit up when he saw them, and he was very proud of each and everyone of them. Ray was a good man, with a good heart, was kind, sweet and caring to all that he met. His smile, his stories and legacy will live on forever in our hearts and minds.

A Celebration of Life service will take place with reception to follow on Saturday, April 27th at 12:00 noon at Voyage Funeral home 472 Kirkfield St. Winnipeg with Pastor Norman Meade officiating.

We like to thank his friends and family for stopping by to visit or call him during these last few years of his life.

In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire donations can be made to Canadian Diabetes Association.
