It is with great sadness that our family announces the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother while in COVID care at Concordia Place Nursing Home.
Remaining to cherish her memory is her sister Elaine; her son Derek (Karen); grandsons,
Lev (Ashleigh) and Kyle (Rocheen); great grandchildren, Logan, Aiden, Emily, Liam and Peyton; as well as many other extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Goldie and Peggy Prout.
Throughout her life, mom’s warm positive personality, independent spirit and job opportunities allowed her to make many friends while living in Calgary and Toronto, but Dauphin was where she called home. After she retired, she moved to Winnipeg to be near family. She loved spending time with us, baking cookies for her grandsons, enjoying activities with friends, swimming in her apartment pool with family and friends and volunteering at Concordia Hospital. Mom would greet everyone she met with a kind word.
Thank you to the staff at Concordia Place for providing a warm and comfortable place for her to live for the past five years.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Winnipeg Humane Society.
