May 20, 1934 – December 25, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Wilfred James Bowerman, age 86, in Winnipeg.
Wilf was born in Cleeves, Saskatchewan in 1934. He married his wife, Joyce, in 1959. They lived in Saskatoon for eight years, where they had their three sons, before settling down in Esterhazy where their daughter was born. They spent 30 years in Esterhazy, where they made lifelong friends before moving to Winnipeg in 1998.
Wilf is predeceased by his mother and father; brother Russ; and sister Phyliss.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Joyce; sons Craig, Wade (Dena), and Myron; daughter Lonna (Ian); granddaughters Emily, Sydney, and Paige; and many friends and extended family throughout Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
Wilf retired from a career as a long-haul trucker in 2012. In earlier years he enjoyed fishing, curling and could often be found creating pieces for friends and family in his woodshop or going for walks. He loved spending time with friends and family and cheering for the Toronto Blue Jays. He passed on his love for sports and the outdoors to his children.
Wilf was a hands-on husband, father, and grandfather. He and his wife, Joyce, have always put their family above all else and provided everyone with endless love and support over the years. We will never forget the warmth of his laugh and smile, and our memories of him will live in our hearts forever.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
