Wayne Kenneth Perkins

Wayne passed away peacefully on April 12, 2024 at Concordia Hospital after a courageous battle with Cancer.

He will be forever missed by his loving wife Margaret, children Cindy (Roland), Jennifer (Guy) and Wayne. His grandchildren Rory (Brittany), Chad, Jaden, Krystle (TJ), Justin (Lisa). His sister Sharon, brother-in-law Joe (Maria), sister-in-law Marta, Aunt Nett and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces/nephews.

He was predeceased by parents Bill & Irene Perkins, his mother-in-law Maria Vasconcelos, his brother Bob, brother-in-law Dave, nephew Michael and grandson Caelan.

Wayne was born in Winnipeg on January 25, 1944. Wayne had a long career working at Canada Safeway working his way up to becoming a store manager in 1978 and retiring in 1995.

He loved the outdoors, an avid fisherman, hunter, a camper when younger, and loved time spent at the family cabin at Gull Lake. Wayne loved travelling, from a weekend in Grand Forks to the many places he visited in his life. He was always asking when the next game was for his grandsons happily watching soccer, baseball and football.

He loved watching sports, playing golf and always had an opinion as to how the Jets or Bombers could be better. He was well known for sharing his thoughts on all subjects and current affairs.

He loved all his dogs, his current dog Fifi being the smartest dog ever!
Wayne has been cremated and as per his wishes there is no service. Wayne leaves a huge void in all of our lives.

Goodbye my family, my life has past, I loved you all to the very last, love each other for my sake, For those you love don’t go away They walk beside you every day.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any animal rescue or a charity of your choice.

Thank-you , Cindy, for the loving tribute to your father. We recall his loyal presence at our shared grandson Jaden’s concerts, grandparent’s day, football games. His love for his family was evident. Our condolences go out to Margaret, Wayne, Cindy, Jennifer, and the rest of the family.

  2. We are so sorry for the loss of your dear Dad, Cindy & Jennifer and families.
He will never be forgotten, he will live on in your hearts forever! 🙏🏻💐💔
Love & Hugs, June & Richard Gray
