It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sharon Paulsen on May 10, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband, Bill; daughter Desiree (Chad); son Barrett (Kristyn); and grandchildren, Brynja, Andren and Aren. She was predeceased by her parents, Rodney and Iris Wood and her brother, Wayne Wood.
Sharon was born on January 30, 1947 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She married her soulmate and best friend, Bill, and they enjoyed 53 happy years of marriage together. Those years were filled with a mutual love of golf, curling and time spent with their family and friends. Sharon stayed at home to raise her children while they were young and was a regular volunteer at their schools. She later went on to have a career that she loved, working at Domain School and then at Muscular Dystrophy and Plasticom Inc. Sharon was passionate about helping others and was always busy organizing events for Winnipeg Harvest including food drives, school supply drives and knitting hats and scarves to donate to those in need. She had many dear friends and will be greatly missed.
The family would like to thank Dr. Dawe and the staff at CancerCare for their care and compassion for Sharon over the past two years.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or Winnipeg Harvest in Sharon’s name.
