Roland passed away at St. Boniface on June 8, 2022 at the age of 93. His wife of 57 years Beatrice (Catellier) sadly passed on May 15, 2012. Born in St. Leon on January 1, 1929 to Marie (Rondeau) and Maurice Dion, he is survived by his sister Gisele (Sparling) and predeceased by his brothers Marcel and Gerald and sister Yvette (Rondeau).
His love of everything mechanical lead him to a long career working as a millwright in the community, BC and Ontario. He was a proud long-time member of the Knights of Columbus, and served for decades on the Board of Directors for Place Demeurons.
Roland leaves to cherish his memory his son Robert, daughters Pauline and Nicole (Michael) and son Denis (Valerie); his eight grandchildren Clint (Dana), Tara, Daina (Austin), Steven (Kim), Erik, Michaelis (Ken), Madison (Taylor) and Denzeree (James) along with four great-grandchildren.
A memorial reception will take place on Thursday, June 16, 2022 from 2-4 pm at Desjardin Funeral Chapel, 357 Desmeuron Street in St. Boniface. His ashes will be interred alongside his wife’s in St. Malo at a later date.
