Rockie Wayne Chester

On Monday, October 5, 2020 Rockie peacefully passed away at home with his family by his side. Rockie left us to embark on a new journey after a courageous battle with cancer. His final few hours were spent in the company of his family.

After spending 40+ years as a graphic designer he retired in 2014 from Kromar Printing. He enjoyed many activities but fishing with his friends was a favourite. Even though Rockies’ illness made him frail, he possessed strength and perseverance with the ability to overcome incredible odds and physical challenges for us, his family. With his courage, he led us to believe that each day was a bonus and an opportunity to create memories which, in time, will put the smiles back on our faces when we again recall and relive some special events without our hearts breaking and tears flowing. We are so proud of his valiant efforts to stay with us.

Rockie will be forever missed by his wife Alison; his sons Jason and Sean as well as his grandsons Cody and Brennan. Rockie is survived by three brothers (Lorry, Carl and Richard) and their wives as well as two sisters (Cheryl and Janet) and their husbands as well as many nieces and nephews. He will sadly be missed by his friends and family who stood beside him. Thank you for your help and support during this challenging time.

Rockie and I have travelled many miles on our last journey together – miles of emotions, spirits, courage and strength. I thanked God for granting me the courage and strength to walk beside him to his life’s end. Always and forever in our hearts.

Rockie’s family would like to thank Palliative Care, CancerCare Manitoba and MAID for assisting him in making it possible for him to pass with dignity.

Flowers are gratefully declined. According to Rockies’ wishes there will be no service.

Always and Forever Loved.
