Onalea’s love of sports shone while attending John Taylor Collegiate and in later years playing many games of fast ball. Onalea had a very easy going disposition that helped her cope with her 32 year struggle with MS. She was a single Mom who had lots of determination and love which helped her accomphish her goal to raise her son to be the young man he has become. Over the years, Onalea had various administrative positions. Her most favourite was with National Leasing, where she made many friends, especially Kim. Due to MS she had to take an early retirement.
Cremation has taken place and her final resting place will be Baldur Cemetery, in Baldur, Manitoba.

I’m saddened to hear of Onalea’s passing. I felt privileged to have known her. Always tried to take life’s hurdles with strength & determination. A welcoming, kind hearted spirit with a smidge of sarcasm made our visits such a pleasure. She will be missed by many. Rest in Peace my friend, it was an honour. Not sure when but I’m like a bad nightmare, I’ll see you again one day. Sending Peace & Light to the family.
So saddened and sorry to hear of my high school friends passing. I just heard this terrible news.. Onalea was a unique soul and very witty and captivating. She had the most amazing smile that could light up the mood and any room. She was a great athlete and basketball player, and very driven by her passions. She taught me how to drive a standard back in the day and had the most patience and kindness through the difficult task. We travelled many miles in that little chevette of hers. She loved that car! She was a great person and she will be missed. XO Rest In Peace my friend.
I am so saddened to hear the news of Onalea’s passing. I have many fond memories of our years together. Sending condolences to all who loved and cared for her.

Literally just found out. Very sad from this news. I met Onalea at Smitty’s and visited her a couple of times when she had get togethers. She was very friendly and funny…not to mention genuinely kind. Met her brother and friends, they were all great. RIP Onalea.
