July 21, 1943 – December 19, 2021
On December 19, 2021 at the age of 78 years peacefully at home after a 2 year battle with cancer, Nellie lost her fight.
Leaving behind to mourn her passing is; Son Trevor (Shannon) stepdaughter Karlee, sister Stella, sister Cheryl (Darrel) son Luke, Brother Mike (Val), Auntie Nellie Masiak , Nephews; Wayne (Janice) children Chance and Savannah, Alan (Sulay) daughter Kayla.
Nellie grew up in Winnipeg Mb. attending school at Sisler high. After graduating she began her first job working with Eatons Co. for approximately 5 years or so, until she met her husband Larry Marchenski. Nellie and Larry married and began a family, where they bought their 1st and only home on Mccalman ave.
After a long battle with Cancer, Larry passed away, leaving behind Nellie and her small children. She then went on to work for Regal furniture for 16 years until they closed. Nellie always had passion for flowers, so naturally she began a career with Safeway florist department until she retired in 2008.
Nellie loved playing bingo going to casinos and taking trips to Las Vegas. When she had a chance she always enjoyed a trip to Alberta, to see her sister Stella in the summer.
Another talent she had was knitting, she enjoyed making toques, slippers, sweaters. Often working on complicated patterns and designs.
She dedicated her entire life to her husband, daughter Theresa and son Trevor, to which we are extremely grateful to her.
Nellie is predeceased by her husband Larry, daughter Theresa, parents; Jean and Mike Maksymchuk and brother-in-law Mike Galay. In-laws; Eleanor and John Marchenski, cousin Johnny Boyechko.
Nellie was very fond of her previous neighbours, Helga (Walter) Pisike.
She also had many cousins and friends in the Dauphin area, she will be sadly missed.
Immediate cremation will take place with no service to follow, and a immediate family grave side service in the spring.
