July 8, 1947 – September 6, 2021
Nancy, 74, of Winnipeg passed away on September 6, 2021. Nancy was born in Winnipeg on July 8, 1947 to Adele and Frederick James. She attended Munroe Junior High and Miles MacDonnell Collegiate in East Kildonan. From there she graduated from Success Commercial College.
Nancy married David in 1967 and together they had two children, Carissa, and Kareen. She started work at Hughes Owens, and Shell Oil and then as an administrative assistant at the Prince Charles Educational Resource Centre with the Winnipeg School Division until she retired. Nancy always put her family first and was a wonderful, supportive and caring mother and grandmother. Not a day would go by when she was not thinking of some way to bring love and enjoyment to her family. Her love, concern and kindness toward others will always be remembered and cherished. Nancy had a great love for music and through this met many good friends online and in Winnipeg. This led to her attending concerts in the USA and Broadway plays in NYC with her friends and her husband where she created even more new and lasting friendships. Nancy was a proud member of CNIB.
Nancy was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her husband David; her daughters Carissa Embury-Hyatt (John) and Kareen Dahlin (Jeff); her grandchildren Ayla and Mia Embury-Hyatt and her mother Adele James. She was predeceased by her father Frederick and her brother Frederick Jr.
A private memorial service for the family will be held at Voyage Funeral Home on September 14, 2021. A special thanks to the caregivers at HSC GH4 for their care and compassion and Pastor Philip Edwards of Seine River Church, Lorette.
Memorial donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
