December 31, 1942 – March 23, 2023
Peacefully on March 23 at the St. Boniface Hospital, after a brief illness, our beloved husband and father passed away at the age of 80 years.
Left to mourn his passing are his living wife of 50 years, Marilyn; his daughters, Nicole and Tara (David); step-son Lee (Roxie) Meads, all of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Brittney (Connor) of Ottawa and Braeden of Winnipeg; brothers Joseph (Tracy) of B.C and Armand of Saskatchewan; sister Eunice of Winnipeg; sisters-in-law Roberta (his phone buddy) of Vassar and Joan Lidster of Winnipeg, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father, Alphonse in 1979; mother, Jeanette in 1995; as well as brothers, Andre, Gerald, Rene and Albert; nieces Danielle Tetrault and Rhena Storo; and brothers-in-law Mike Lidster and Lawrence Wynne.
Leo loved logging in the bush and driving his semi-trucks. He was very proud of his wife and daughters who will always remember his wise advice and generosity.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to all the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their care over the last four months.
In respecting Leo’s wishes, there will be no formal service. Cremation has taken place. A private family gathering will follow at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of one’s choice is appreciated.

Thank you.
Rest in peace, Leo..you sure fought a long and hard battle.
We will all miss you, as you were always there for us , in time of need. You were a.ways interested in finding out about what was going on in your old hometown of Vassar and the people you had known..
