JUNE 15, 1975 – FEBRUARY 16, 2022
It is with profound grief that the family announces the sudden passing of Kelly Lee Bik (nee Wood),
beloved daughter, sister, mother, wife, niece, aunt and friend, on February 16, 2022. Kelly was prematurely
taken from her family and friends at the age of 46.
Left to cherish her memory are her beautiful children Lukyan, Ksenya; husband Andrew; parents Susanna and Ian; sister Lindsay (Dale); nephews Braeden and Alex; brother Ralston (Kandace); cousins ‘auntie’ Eva (Len), Kevin (Tesh), Gitta and Daniel; as well as extended family Olga and Agnes and so many close and treasured friends.
Born in 1975, Kelly was raised in Winnipeg. She attended and graduated from Miles Mac Collegiate.
During her childhood, Kelly spent a lot of time with her Hungarian grandparents Ilona and Alfonse, where she grew to love her Hungarian culture. Some years later, she became involved and volunteered in the Hungarian Community, and made many lifelong friends. First Kelly, and now Lukyan, and Ksenya, all love Hungarian folk dancing.
Kelly met Andrew while working at the Crystal Casino. In 1999 both got jobs with Carnival Cruise Line working as
croupiers in the casinos on the cruise ships. She spent the next 2.5 years enjoying travelling all over the world with Andrew. Kelly really enjoyed and immersed herself in all the different cultures she came across during her world travels. She made numerous friends, and left a lasting impression with the many people she interacted with all over the world.
Kelly was always an avid photographer, an artistic attribute she probably inherited from her Grandpa Ali. Her passion and keen eye for photography were fully displayed in thousands of beautiful pictures she took while travelling around the world, some of which were published in national magazines.
In 2004 Kelly and Andrew got married. In 2005 Kelly graduated from RRC with a diploma in structural engineering technology. However, her passion for photography never diminished. In 2006 Kelly graduated from Prairie View Photography School and became a professional photographer. Up until the birth of her son Lukyan, Kelly worked full time as a structural technologist, and was a wedding/family photographer in her spare time. After this, Kelly devoted her time to raising her son and to her photography business.
In 2014 she had her beautiful daughter Ksenya. Kelly loved her children very much and was devoted to taking care of them. It was equally important to her that the children learn about and love their Ukrainian heritage of their Dad Andrew. The children attend Immaculate Heart of Mary Ukrainian Catholic School, where she also volunteered for many years at their Annual Tea, and other school events.
In 2021 Kelly was so excited to return to work full time, and accepted a position with Randall Homes. Unfortunately her time there was cut short when she was diagnosed with lung cancer. The news of her cancer shattered her and all her future dreams. She bravely fought the best fight she could but was taken from us too soon.
Kelly was a beautiful soul, a kind and loving person who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
A special thank you goes out to all the nurses and doctors at CancerCare for their exceptional and compassionate care of Kelly as well as Dr. Kerri Wyant.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or any Pet Rescue Shelters.
Kelly you are loved and will be immensely missed and we will always be there for your beautiful children and Andrew. You will always be in our hearts, memories and prayers.

Heartbreaking for everyone who knew and loved her, and for her, to have missed the next 40+ years of her life. Entirely unfair. My home is filled with images that Kelly took and I will think of her each time I look at them.
I met Kelly in RRC. I remember her being super nice, very kind, and very smart. Andrew, I am very sorry for your heart-breaking loss. Fuck cancer.

Deeply saddened by the news. I met Kelly years ago, she mentored me into the world of photography and I’m grateful for her friendship and the time we spent together. I will always remember her kind soul. I will be reminded of her whenever I look at my wedding photos. Rest in peace, condolences to all.
It’s been many, many years, but you will always be missed as an amazing friend. Condolences to all of Kelly’s family and friends.
Dear Andrew and Family,
We met Kelly 8 years ago when she began taking our annual family photos. I got to know her well, and considered her a friend. We have such wonderful memories of our time with her and the incredible photos she took to capture our growing family over the years. I am deeply saddened by the news of her passing, and am sending our heartfelt condolences. She was a beautiful (inside and out), vibrant, talented, strong woman who loved her family dearly. She was happy to be fulfilling her passion of photography and her memory will live on in those photos. We will be making a donation to the Cancer Society in honour of Kelly.
All our love and thoughts to you and your family.
Sincerely,
Kathryn and Family
