August 27, 1960 – September 28, 2021
It is with the greatest of sadness that we announce the passing of Judy Lynn McParland, age 61, on September 28, 2021 in Winnipeg, MB. Born August 27, 1960 in Fort William, ON (now Thunder Bay) she lived there until years later, on a holiday trip to Winnipeg, she met the love of her life, Dan Smith, and remained there until her passing. Judy was a fun-loving, kind, generous daughter, sister, aunt and friend. We’ll miss you, Jude, more than words can say. Our hearts are broken but your smile and laughter will stay with us forever.
Predeceased by her husband Dan Smith; in-laws Bernard and Betty Smith of Winnipeg; niece Kimberley Vibert and brother-in-law Gary Vibert of Thunder Bay.
Survived by parents Roy and Ruth McParland; siblings Debbie McParland (Vernon), Sandy Vibert, Bob McParland (Charlene), Ruth McParland, Angie McParland and Bill McParland (Andrea); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews all in Thunder Bay.
A special thank you to the nurses and staff at Beacon Hill Lodge for all their care and compassion for Judy. Thank you also to friends, Greg and Mel Funnell and their dog, Moose for stepping in after Dan’s sudden death in October 2020 and taking such good care of her.
Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or charity of your choice.
