It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Ambroseychuk on August 29, 2024, at the St. Boniface Hospital.
John will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife Kathy of 61 years; his children Sharon and Barry (Cheene); his grandchildren Melissa (Chris), Kieran and Lia; and great-grandchildren Jaxon and Mason. He was predeceased by his grandson Cory and numerous brothers and sisters.
John was born in Stuartburn, MB. He was one of twelve children. The family later moved to Sarto, MB where he grew up.
John married the love of his life on March 30, 1963, and they were happily married for 61 years.
He loved spending many years at Hillside Beach, playing cards, horseshoes, lawn darts and having bonfires with friends and family. He loved being outdoors. He took great pride in his work. He spent many years cutting and delivering firewood.
John loved watching sports and never missed a Jets or Blue Jays game. He was very proud of the numerous medals and trophies he won from bowling, which he enjoyed immensely.
He will be lovingly remembered and missed by all who knew him.
Many thanks to the staff at St. Boniface Hospital and to Dr. Houston and nurses Dawn and Lisa.
In following with his wishes, cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of John to Cancer Care Manitoba.
When tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand, that an angel came and called my name, and took me by the hand. The angel said my place was ready, in Heaven far above, and that I’d have to leave behind all those I dearly love. But when I walked through Heavens gates, I felt so much at home, for God looked down smiled at me, and told me “Welcome home”. So, when tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we’re far apart, for every time you think of me, I’m right there in your heart.

Kathy and family,
My deepest condolences to all of you. We will deeply miss the get togethers that we had throughout the years. Family Christmas dinners, Grey Cup parties, long car rides and especially Hillside Beach Bonfires. Rest In Peace my brother John, and our favourite Uncle.
