It is with deep and profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of John Wayne Hodson on November 19, 2021, at the age of 66 years.
John was a devoted father, brother, uncle and friend. He would have done anything for anyone.
John was predeceased by his wife Fay; his parents Roy and Ione; brothers Robert, Roy and Ed; sisters Ellen, Sharan and Susan; brothers-in-law Len Leclerc and Darren Greengrass and sisters-in-law Dolores Izzard and Isabelle Hodson and his niece Destiny.
He is survived by his daughters Teagan and Sue (Andrew); brother, David (Dawn); sisters Retta, Dale, Kim and Barb; his life-long best friend Danny and many other family members and friends.
John worked for Papa Georges Restaurant on Osborne for over 30 years. He loved his work there and was sorry to see the restaurant close its doors.
Any opportunity to make someone laugh or smile would be snatched up by him in a heartbeat. He was a people person, loved being surrounded by those he cared about, even striking up conversations with strangers on the street. He made friends anywhere he went. His heart burned too hot for too long and will be missed by so many.
He had a love for fishing, give him a fishing rod and a body of water and he’d be gone for hours. If you needed to find him, you knew where to look.
John will be greatly missed but he now joins all his fishing companions and the adventure shall continue.
A private memorial service will be held by invitation only.
Voyage Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
