November 6th, 1930 – November 13th, 2024

It’s with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Jean Doreen Wood (nee Randall) on November 13th, 2024
at the age of 94 years young.

She was predeceased by her parents Frank and Dorothy Randall, husband Gordon Wood, siblings Peggy (Alf) Laidlaw, Joyce (Bill) Gillespie and Harry (Mil) Randall, and
nephew-in-law Ray Giesbrecht.

Survived and lovingly remembered by her daughter Maureen (Gary) and son Gord; also her grandchildren Travis (FI Chantale), Devon (Niki), and Amanda (Scott); great-
grandchildren Aurora-Lee, Savannah, Charlotte, and Mason; loving niece Janis Giesbrecht, and long-time friend Gerry Caul.

Jean was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She started her career as a Millner, then a stay at home mother, and later in life a clerk at Eaton’s and The Bay. Jean had volunteered at the Deer Lodge Centre. She had such a great sense of humor and loved to laugh.

Jean was generous, supportive, strong, independent, and for her utmost love for her family. She never drove a car but she had a passion for walking. Jean enjoyed camping, avid reader, listening to music, playing cards, bingo, crosswords, and search a word.

She lived on her own after the passing of her husband in 1999 until the age of 92, then she resided at the Holy Family Home until her passing.

Special thanks to the staff at Holy Family Home for caring for our mother with love, respect and compassion. As a family, we truly are grateful for each one of you that were involved with her daily care. We would also like to express our deep gratitude to Janis Giesbrecht for her weekly visits, kindness, and support.

In keeping with Jean’s wishes, cremation has taken place but not to have a funeral service. She was a member and contributor to the Winnipeg Humane Society. Jean adored animals so if you would like to donate in her memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society.

Jean has touched many lives and will be deeply missed but forever in our hearts.

My Grandmother is an amazing person, she set the standard of what you want to to achieve in a life worth living. Her smile is contagious, her work ethic was like none other, she loved her family more than anything. Her daughter is her best friend, she instilled in Maureen everything that it takes to be a strong, successful, woman.

Jean would take her son Gord, her 3 grandchildren Amanda, Devon, and Travis out to the trailer every summer for as long as I can remember. She also instilled into them everything that she held dear to her heart given them all the basics to become unique and great people.

I couldn’t have asked for a better friend, mother, grandmother I am blessed to have this woman in my life for my whole life.

I love you grandma for now and forever.
I will see you again, until than I will continue on with what you started in this life and the next.
