October 1, 1932 – February 17, 2023
Peacefully with his family by his side, Jim Taylor passed away on February 17, 2023 at the age of 90 years.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 61 years, Marlene; his daughter Shauna (David); son Gary (Becky); grandsons Caleb and Kienan; his brother, Douglas (Audrey), and his many nieces, nephews, extended family members, neighbours and friends.
Jim spent his early days in Belmont, Manitoba, later settling in Winnipeg where he enjoyed a long career at the Manitoba Liquor Control Commission. Among his favorite pastimes were reading, gardening, and curling. He loved traveling by car and he and Marlene made many road trips to B.C., California, and various other places in Canada and the U.S.
Jim was a kind, generous, and quick-witted person who always put others ahead of himself. He loved a good joke, a good meal, and a good conversation.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 25 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 472 Kirkfield Street at McBey Avenue, Winnipeg.
Jim’s family would like to express their gratitude to the dedicated health professionals at Seven Oaks Hospital and Grace Hospital, as well as to the caring staff at Sturgeon Creek 1 Retirement Residence.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim’s honour to a charity of one’s choice.
