May 4, 1935 – May 13, 2021
Jim passed away peacefully early Thursday, May 13, 2021 after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Jim was predeceased by his wife Betty; step-son Dan Lenz; granddaughter Amanda Lenz; and son-in-law RJ Kennedy.
Jim leaves to mourn his passing, wife Eileen; children Bob Squires (Tammy) and Cathy Nesbitt (Rick); step-children John McMillan (Donna), Vickie Kennedy, Kathy Loeppky (Brian) and Scott McMillan; grandchildren Michael Squires, Jason Bock, Jeffrey Bock, Lisa Cullen, Jana Kennedy (Mauricio), Steven McMillan (Lindsay), Jennifer Berch (Nolan) and Steven Lenz (Pie); ten great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
During his life, he worked at a number of very interesting jobs as an accountant. As he would say ‘Not all accountants are stuffy!”
In the last twenty odd years since retirement, he made travel his vocation. For fourteen years Weslaco, Texas was home base during the winter. Jim managed to get thirty cruises, five long bus trips and many shorter bus trips into Canada, USA, Costa Rica, and Mexico checked off his bucket list, until cancer put a hole in his bucket.
Jim’s intelligence, sense of humour, and hearty laugh will be missed.
According to Jim’s wishes, he was cremated and no memorial service will be held. An interment will be held at a later date with family.
