In Loving Memory of James Marshall Morrison
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of James (Jim) Morrison. Jim passed peacefully on September 17th, 2021 at the age of 65 after a two battle with cancer at St. Boniface Hospital under the care of the Palliative staff.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Wilma (nee Sinclair) of 47 years; his daughters Cory (Darryl McGovern), Amanda (Matthew Schwartz); 3 granddaughters, Hailey, Savanna and Brooklyn; his brothers Bill, Don and sister Sally; nieces and nephews. Jim is predeceased by his brother David and his parents Robert and Agnes Morrison.
Jim was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on November 27, 1955 to Robert (Marshall) and Agnes (Beth) Morrison. At the age of 15, Jim and Wilma began dating and were married in 1974 and were true high school sweethearts. The love they shared grew and two daughters completed their little family. They enjoyed all that life brought to them including camping trips to places such as Killarney Manitoba.
Jim was a devoted husband, father, father in law and Papa who dedicated his life to ensuring that he gave all he could to those he loved. Jim was well respected and well liked by friends and colleagues.
Jim retired from CP Rail after 39 years of service as a Purchasing Supervisor. During his years of retirement, Jim worked part time positions to keep himself busy and to save up for his ultimate dream vacation – a three month trip to Australia. The dream vacation became reality and Jim and Wilma enjoyed themselves and fell in love all over again.
The family would like to thank CancerCare Manitoba; the staff at both Grace General Hospital and St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care; and Voyage Funeral Home and Crematorium for all their care and compassion.
A private family gathering has been planned as per Jim’s wishes.

I remember the day Wilma met Jim and they were absolutely smitten with each other. He had such an impish grin and i remember him as being very sweet and kind. Wilma said to me shortly after they began dating “he is my soul mate”. I knew they were perfect for each other. Wilma I am deeply sorry for the loss of your dear husband. May you and your family find some peace from your cherished memories. We lost touch throughout the years but I never forgot this beautiful couple, Wilma and Jim. Love, your old friend, Mary
