December 5, 1955 – February 12, 2020

It is with heavy hearts that we say “until we meet again” to our devoted and loving husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather Guy.

Guy is predeceased by his father Wilbert Towle and mother in law Audrey Forgues.

Guy leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 37 years, Llyn Towle (aka Pooh); daughters Melissa (Lynden) Wagner, Ashley (JP) Tremblay and Andrea (Carl and Ben) Scholl; sister Kim (Barry) Coates; niece Mandy Steele (Brad); great niece Hope Steele; brother Bill (Stephanie) Towle; as well as many more family and friends. Thank you to all the friends and family for being there for us, we love you all.

Guy was born in Winnipeg, MB and spent his life here. He graduated from Tec-Voc High School and went on to complete his red seal as a journeyman sheet metal worker. He spent a short time in the early 80’s working for CP Rail under the direction of Alex Popp. Guy and Llyn were married in the spring of 1983. When their first child was born in 1985 he left the traveling of the railway for a career that made it possible for him to be home with his growing family. His chosen career was fabricating custom signs, which he did for a few different sign companies in Winnipeg. Most recently, Electra Signs, where they made him feel welcome and valued. Guy took great pride in his work, many of the signs he built can be seen throughout the city.

Guy was an outdoorsman and enjoyed camping, hiking, fishing, hockey and sponge hockey. Later, his passion turned to golf. As a young family of five the yearly camping trips to Blue Lake were not only fun and games. He taught his 3 girls the joys of nature; how to build a fire, fishing, picking blueberries, and feeding chickadees and chipmunks from their hand. Many mornings we had chipmunks running around the picnic table at breakfast waiting for the girls to feed them. He taught them to only leave their footprints behind. He instilled independence and self sufficiency in his girls. With that, they all found very successful medical careers that made both Guy and Llyn so proud. They all married wonderful young men who support them, and turned our little family of five to eight. Guy was over the moon when his first grandson Ben was born, his buddy, his boy. “Cheers”.

Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held in the summer, Guy’s favourite season.

In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in Guy’s name to The Mental Health Association of Canada
