Greta was born in Winnipeg and was the fourth child of seven. She grew up going to her Nanny’s cottage Sunny Dean in Winnipeg beach. In her high school years, she was introduced to Jesus and started attending Calvary Temple, joined the choir, and met Tom Alder. They were married June 18. 1954. Together they raised four children. Mom was blessed to be called Nanny by eight grands and three great grands.
Mom’s passions were reading, poetry and singing. Mom went back to school to get her high school diploma at the age of fifty-five. Graduating right beside Kathy. In addition, she took creative writing at the university.
Mom loved nature, especially flowers and was always happy to chat with people, making new friends.
