Gregory Porter

Gregory Porter

It is with broken hearts and profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Greg Porter on March 30, 2022 due to a heart attack.

He is lovingly remembered by the love of his life Sandi/Cassandra and her son Christopher; sister Tammy/Tamar (Clint); nephews Matthew and Reynald; niece Victoria; his mother Christine; and his two sons Nathan and Jace. He was predeceased by his grandparents Albert and Marion Porter and Andrew and Jean Crossan; father Wayne Porter; and aunt Ray Anderson.

Greg moved to Transcona in 1982, from Anola, which became his home surrounded by friends and family.

Greg was a character. He loved his Harleys and his early morning rides. Greg also enjoyed the time spent with his brothers on the road as well as with his best friend Dan. He always had an open-door policy for drop-ins or impromptu garage parties; which many of his friends and family would partake in.

He will be lovingly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Greg’s life will be held Saturday, April 23, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Joe’s Pandora Inn, 222 Bond St.

  1. I will always love you. You are and amazing man and such an addition to my family. What you have brought to myself and Christopher’s life is beyond words. Greg I can not wait to see you again and share everything and every moment with you. I love you so much! Here’s to Niagara Falls! Xoxoxoxo

  2. Love, I cannot express in words; I have carried a flame for you, all of my life. Thank you, Greg, for the laughter, the moments, the memories, and most of all for giving me the greatest gift of all, our son. He is amazing; you would be so proud. This new reality is horrifying; there will never be another chance to hear you laugh, see that twinkle in your eyes. You have touched so many, in so many ways. I fell in love with you as a little girl; there were so many good times, struggles, misunderstandings, and moments of calm reflection. Thank you for all of it. Thank you for sharing the best parts of yourself and allowing our love to live, forever, within me and our son. Rest In Peace; your are and always will be on my mind, in my heart, and a part of my life, until we meet again.
