After a short illness, Gord passed at the Ste Annes Hospital on May 8, 2023, at 79 years old.
Gord leaves to mourn his wife of 27 years, Roxanne. He was predeceased by Doreen (sister), Neil McMaster, Eunice McMaster (mother) and Gord Nicolas McMaster (father).
Also, his family Alan McMaster (brother), Robert McMaster (brother), Helen Dube (sister), Morris (passed), Hazel and Bob (sister and brother-in-law), Gene and Trudy McMaster (brother and sister-in-law), children Gord McMaster, Debra and grandchildren.
Gord worked for the City of Winnipeg water works for many years and worked the heavy equipment backhoe, and hyra unit. He started out in Charleswood and he finished his job there clearing underground.
He retired 16 years ago and enjoyed life far from the city. He enjoyed working on his car and running tractors on his acreage. He loved his dogs and cats and seeing the wildlife come through the property.

Dad worked for the City for 37 years. He ran the
HYRO unit like a well oiled machine
Dad also loved being around people and
socializing. Especially when he would go dancing at
nis Parents without Partners group. And go out or
cruise night with his “friends “! He always had a
great story to tell!
It’s unfortunate that he lived so far away from the
city because Dad said if he didn’t, we would see
alot more of him. He seemed to change alot after
his move.
I really didn’t know my father to be a religious man
At all, But he knows if there is a higher power, he
would be sitting down playing a very good game of
cribbage. His favorite!
His memorial will be in Drumheller mid June. It
would even be better if we could also have his
ashes with us there as he wished for.
Love you Dad. That has never changed and never
will.

You were the first man I ever loved. You were my hero. Although we didn’t get along the past few years you were still my dad. I remember always holding your pinky finger when we walked together. I remember you covering me up with your warm fuzzy jacket that i will cherish. I remember when it was time to come in you came looking for me on my bike…then you would double me home. I remember laying my head on your chest listening to your heart beat. I remember you giving me wisker burn on my cheeks. I remember your huge ice cream sundaes you would prepare, sometimes daily. I remember you picking me up in your convertible for our coffee dates. There is so much more I could say…. I wish you peace and rest, dad. I love you, that has never changed, and I will forever love you.
So sorry for your loss Gord and Deb. I know how much you both loved your dad. I know what a nightmare you both have been through the last few years.
I know he is now able to be with you both freely and without judgment. Your dad always spoke very highly of his children and how proud he was of both of you.
Much love, Betty
