  14. Order of AHEPA Family

We express our deepest sympathy to his family and offer our thoughts and prayers.

In addition to George’s strong ethic, positive attitude, commitment to family and community, his qualities extended to the AHEPA Family with a passion for philanthropy and Hellenism.

Brother Mavridis was a vibrant and a driving force whose contribution at building the AHEPA Family and community is well known over the years. After joining the Order of AHEPA (American Hellenic and Progressive Association) in 2003, he quickly rose to higher levels of the Order through hard work, an openness with many, and an organized commitment in ensuring AHEPA’s role in the community effectively made a difference to others. Whether as chapter president (4 years), executive officer (both for the chapter and District 24), organizing or assisting in various activities (i.e.: the AHEPA Golf Tournament, Greek Telephone Directory, Greek Islands Folklorama Pavilion, GreekFest, OXI Day, etc.), George made a difference which ensured many of the Order’s endeavours were a success. It was his contribution and drive that helped expand the goals and foundations of AHEPA which was recognized through our chapters’ first visitation by a Supreme President (headquartered in Washington, DC) in 2012 during George’s chapter presidency.

His dedication, drive and humour are fondly remembered by many of us and will sorely be missed. His contribution to life fulfilled the ideals of Hellenism which include: education, philanthropy, family & individual excellence, education, and civic responsibly through community service and volunteerism.

Sophocles once said: “Success is dependent on effort”. George indeed showed us the key to success in life.

May his memory be eternal (αιώνια η μνήμη).

  15. William Constan Family

On behalf of my family, I like to express our deepest condolences and offer our prayers for your loss.

George was a personal family friend for many years and fellow AHEPAN. His philoxenia /hospitality was only matched by his openness, a drive to make things better, and his witty sense of humour. He is fondly remembered at many gatherings, community activities, and Order of AHEPA events.

We are fortunate to have known him. His fullness in life and enthusiasm is an example for us all to follow.

Eonia Ei Mneimi (May his memory be eternal).
