It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Frank Randall (Randy) Pruden at the Poseidon Personal Care Home on March 29, 2025, at the age of 70.
Randy will be lovingly remembered by his daughters Shauna Rae and Lisa; his sister Rosa; his brothers Wayne, Andre, Garth, Darren, and Darryl, along with their families; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Darcy.
Randy “Mr. Snooker” was well known in the snooker, 9 ball, and 8 ball world in Winnipeg, Canada, and in North America. He also played in England, and made numerous trips to the BCA and VNEA events in Las Vegas. Randy’s accomplishments, too many to list, included: CBSA Canadian 9 ball champion, Calgary Classic champion, Maritime Snooker champion, VNEA open 9 ball division champion, and countless provincial titles in snooker, 9 ball, 8 ball and 100s of regional titles. Not only was Randy an accomplished player in his own right, he mentored many young players in Winnipeg, with a few becoming professional players.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all those who cared for Randy during his declining health. A special thank you to the staff at Windsor Park Place, the team on the 3rd floor of Poseidon Personal Care Home, and to Irene and her family. Your care and compassion did not go unnoticed.
The family would also like to extend a sincere thank you to Chuck and Michelle Wilson for their unwavering care and support to Randy throughout the years.
Cremation has taken place, and there will be no formal funeral service. We invite you to celebrate Randy’s life in whatever way feels right for you.
