It is with deep regret and great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Dr. Amish Rasik Karia at the age of 50 years at home in Winnipeg, with his parents by his side.
Amish was born on March 16, 1972 in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Rasikbhai and Urmilaben Karia.
Amish leaves behind his parents, Rasik and Urmila; brother Ameet (Maria), and many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Amish attended Allard Primary School, Sansome Middle School and Westwood Collegiate.
Academically Amish was blessed. In high school, he was in the International Baccalaureate program. He received his Bachelor of Science at the University of Manitoba in 1996, Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine in 2000, his diploma in Acupuncture at the University of Miami and his Doctor of Medicine from St. George’s University School of Medicine in 2010.
Amish completed residency at Albany Medical College at Albany Medical Center in 2016 and specialized in Psychiatry.
He received National Board Certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and was employed by Texas Health Resources. He was living and practicing medicine in Dallas, Texas until 2021.
Amish was extremely hard working and intelligent, holding numerous medical credentials, with the aspirations of opening his own medical practice. Amish was a great role model, son, brother, friend and the kindest person you could ever know. Amish loved his life. He had many friends which with his family were the pillars of his life.
We pray to the Lord to rest his departed soul in eternal peace and give the family the strength and courage to bear the loss.
Amish’s funeral has taken place and the family appreciates all who were able to attend in person or online.
In lieu of flowers, the family would encourage donating to a charity of your choice.
