Donald Phillips Fleming

After a lengthy illness, it is with great sadness we announce Donald Phillips Fleming passed away March 1, 2022.

Donald was predeceased by his mother (Rebecca), father (St. Clair) and sister (Beryl). He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife Anne, daughters Sandy (Terry) and Leslie (Jim), grandchildren Rylee (Andrew) and Blake (Avary) and his great grandson Alastair. He also leaves behind several nieces and a nephew.

Donald enjoyed tinkering in his workshop and he could fix pretty well anything. Friends and family knew he enjoyed sitting down to chat with a good cup of coffee and some sweets! He had a passion for all cars and loved going to antique car museums over the years. Don was in his element when he was behind the wheel on a road trip with his “8-track” player going. Don became involved in the Headingley Council and served 2 terms. He put in many hours organizing and overseeing the set up of the newly formed Headingley Volunteer Fire Department.

Don’s grandchildren loved sharing his stash of ice cream, pretzels and arrowroot cookies. They will miss their “Papa” dearly!

The family would like to extend our deepest thanks to the staff at Golden West Centennial Lodge for the care they provided to Don.

In keeping with Don’s wishes cremation has taken place and no formal funeral service will be held.

Love you Don, Dad, Papa. Forever in our hearts.
